Fore/Aft Adjustments

If the header is too far forward, too far rearward, or uneven side-to-side, causing the dowel pins to miss the dowel pin alignment holes, the top stack must be adjusted fore/aft as follows:

NOTE: If bottom leading edge of C-pillar contacts quarter window moulding, top stack must be adjusted rearward as described here, and upward as described under Up/Down Adjustments.

  1. Remove rear seat and quarter trim panels as outlined.

NOTE: Loosen bolts ONLY enough to accomplish fore/aft adjustment. Care must be taken during this procedure, as these bolts also control up/down adjustment.

  1. Loosen the six main pivot bracket bolts.
  1. If the header is too far forward, move the bracket rearward. If the header is too far rearward, move the bracket forward.
  1. Tighten the bolts to 16-24 Nm (12-18 lb-ft).
  1. Check header alignment. Adjust dowel pins, if necessary, as outlined.

NOTE: It may be necessary to adjust the vinyl top material to remove wrinkles.
