Remove vinyl top, quarter stay pad and rear window valance as described in
this Section.
Remove stay pad staples at bow No. 1 and bow No. 2.
Separate inside and outside flaps, remove needle pad and reinforcement pad.
Remove the staples attaching the stay pad at each corner and to bows 2, 3,
and 4 and remove the stay pad.
Installation
Remove needle and reinforcement pads from stay pad. Fold stay pad closed
and position pad against offset of bows and staple at each corner with 1/4-inch
staples.
Open stay pad and staple at bows 2, 3, and 4 with 3/8-inch staples.
Position reinforcement in stay pad and staple at bow No. 1 with 1/4-inch
staples. Stretch reinforcement and staple at bows 2, 3, and 4 with 3/8-inch
staples.
Apply adhesive to the exposed side of the reinforcement pad and to both
sides of the needle pad.
Position needle pad on stay pad at edge of bow No. 4 and just short of bow
No. 1.
Apply adhesive to inside surface of stay pad flaps. Fold inside flap
against needle pad and apply adhesive to edge. Fold outside flap over inside
flap and staple at bow No. 1 with a 1/4-inch staple and at bow No. 4 with a
3/8-inch staple.
