To Lower Top

1. Ensure that the folding top stowage compartment area is clear of stowed objects, and that no objects in the luggage compartment project into the stowage area.

2. Rotate the sun visors downward.
   
   
   
   

3. Disengage the RH and LH header clamps by rotating the handles forward. To avoid cutting the top material and ease boot installation, always close the handles after releasing the No. 1 bow from the windshield header.

    CAUTION: Under no circumstances should the folding top be operated while any of the following conditions exist:

   • While the vehicle is in motion.
   • With the dust cover (boot) partially installed across the rear back and stowed in the folding top stowage compartment.
   • With objects in the top compartment.
   • With the rear window unzipped and hanging by the assist strap.
   • With the rear window unzipped and resting on the rear seat back.
   • While the top material is wet.

   These practices may result in damage to the top material, mechanism, broken rear window glass or folding top material shrinkage.

4. Actuate the folding top control by pushing the switch on the instrument panel.

   NOTE: While lowering top, pull top material from between roof linkage. This will lower stack height, decrease top wrinkles and provide a neater appearance.
