Cushion Side Pad Adjuster, Front Seat

Removal

1. Remove the seat and track assembly. Refer to Section 01-10A. Place the seat on a clean surface.

2. Remove the seat cushion trim cover and pad assembly from the cushion frame as outlined.

3. Remove the pad support from the cushion frame as outlined.
   
   
   
   

4. Remove the roll pins from the ends of the side pad adjusting cable. Remove cable and nylon flatwashers.

5. Remove the snap rings from the retaining pins used to secure the side pad adjuster links to the side supports and the adjuster gears. Remove the pins and the links.

6. Remove the two screws retaining the side supports to the cushion frame.

7. Unscrew the worm gears from the side pad adjusting gears and remove the gears.
   
   
   
   

Installation

1. Position the side pad adjusting gear to the cushion frame. Install the appropriate worm gear.

   NOTE: The outer worm gear and adjusting gear having RH threads must be installed on the outboard side of the cushion frame.

2. Install the side supports to the cushion frame.

3. Position the side support adjuster links to the side supports. Install retaining pins and snap rings.

4. Install the retaining pins through the adjuster links and the adjusting gears. Install snap rings.

5. Using the worm gears, adjust both side supports to the full inboard or outboard position.

6. Install one nylon flatwasher on each worm gear.

7. Position the side pad adjusting cable to the worm gears. Install roll pins.
   
   
   
   

8. Install the pad support assembly.
   
   
   
   

9. Install the seat cushion trim cover as outlined.

10. Install the seat back to the seat cushion assembly as outlined.

11. Install the seat tracks to the seat cushion. Refer to Section 01-10A.

12. Install the seat and track assembly. Refer to Section 01-10A.

13. Check the seat tracks and safety belts for proper operation.
