Outside-Recirc Door and/or Shaft

Removal and Installation

1. Remove heater case as outlined.

2. Disconnect vacuum hose at vacuum motor.

3. Remove six screws attaching outside-recirc air duct to heater case. Remove duct.

4. Disconnect vacuum motor (two nuts which attach motor to case and one spring nut which attaches motor drive shaft to door actuating arm).

5. Working through door grid, remove one screw which secures door to center of shaft.

6. Reach inside duct and pull door away from three tension-type retainers on shaft and remove it from duct.

7. Manipulate shaft movement as needed to ease it out of duct through shaft bearing hole in duct.

8. To install shaft and door, reverse Removal procedure.
