Turn Signal Cancel Cam Service

Removal and Installation

Whenever a cracked turn signal cancel cam is encountered on fixed steering columns, it is not necessary to replace the entire upper steering shaft assembly. Instead, a turn signal canceling cam service sleeve, Part No. E1AC-13B368-AA is installed as follows:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and air bag backup power supply.

2. Remove steering wheel as outlined.

3. Remove the upper shaft bearing as outlined.

   NOTE: The service sleeve has three retention dimples. Ensure sleeve is positioned on the canceling cam, so a dimple is not directly over the cam's crack.

4. Place the service sleeve over the cracked canceling cam, and press on it until the sleeve bottoms on the cam tabs.

5. Install the upper steering shaft bearing.

6. Install steering wheel as outlined.

7. Connect air bag backup power supply and battery ground cable.
