Installation

  1. Install new plastic seals on hydraulic line fittings as outlined.
  1. Install gear on mounting spikes.

CAUTION: The hoses are designed to swivel when properly tightened. Do not attempt to eliminate looseness by over-tightening fittings.

  1. Install hydraulic lines. Tighten fittings to 27-34 Nm (20-25 lb-ft).
  1. Install front rubber insulators. Make sure all rubber insulators are pushed completely inside the gear housing before installing the mounting bolts.
  1. Insert input shaft into flexible coupling. Install two mounting bolts, insulator washers and nuts. Tighten the two nuts to 41-54 Nm (30-40 lb-ft) while holding the bolts. Install and tighten the flexible coupling bolt to 28-40 Nm (20-30 lb-ft).
  1. Connect tie rod ends to spindle arms and install two retaining nuts. Tighten nuts to 48-63 Nm (35-47 lb-ft). After tightening to specification, tighten nuts to their nearest cotter pin castellation, and install two new cotter pins.
