Remove the oil pump inlet tube and screen assembly.
Remove the oil pump retaining bolts. Remove the oil pump and intermediate
driveshaft.
Installation
Prime the oil pump by filling either the inlet or outlet port with engine
oil. Rotate the pump shaft to distribute the oil within the pump body.
Position the intermediate driveshaft into the distributor socket. With the
shaft firmly seated in the distributor socket, the stop on the shaft should
touch the roof of the crankcase. Remove the shaft and position the stop as
necessary. Do not attempt to force the pump into position if it
will not seat readily. The driveshaft hex may be misaligned with the
distributor shaft. To align, rotate the intermediate driveshaft into a new
position.
With the stop properly positioned, insert the intermediate driveshaft into
the oil pump. Install the pump and shaft as an assembly.
Tighten the oil pump retaining screws to 30-43 Nm (22-32
lb-ft).
Clean and install the oil pump inlet tube and screen assembly.
Install the oil pan and related parts as outlined.
