Flywheel

 

Removal

  1. On a vehicle with automatic transmission, remove the transmission and converter housing. Refer to the applicable section in Group 07.

    NOTE: Observe position of flywheel on crankshaft flange. Orange bolt hole on torque converter should be matched up with orange line on flywheel for proper balance.

  1. Remove the flywheel retaining bolts and remove the flywheel.
 

Installation

  1. Coat the threads of the flywheel retaining bolts with oil resistant Pipe Sealant with Teflon® D8AZ-19554-A (ESG-M4G194-A and ESR-M18P7-A) or equivalent. Position the flywheel on the crankshaft flange. Install and tighten the bolts in sequence (across from each other) to 102-115 Nm (75-85 lb-ft).
  1. Check the flywheel runout. Refer to Section 03-00. Install the transmission and converter housing. Refer to the applicable section in Group 07.
