CAUTION: Do not oil threads that require oil resistant or water resistant sealer.

When installing nuts or bolts, oil the threads with light-weight engine oil.

Main Bearings

Selective fit main bearings are used in this engine. No. 3 journal is the thrust bearing.

Before main bearing installation, the crankshaft journals must be cleaned and inspected. Refer to Section 03-00.

Check crankshaft end play. Refer to Section 03-00.

For main bearing replacement, refer to Section 03-00.
