CAUTION: Do not oil threads that require oil resistant or water resistant sealer.

When installing nuts or bolts, oil the threads with light-weight engine oil.

Seal

Tools Required:

• Cam and Auxiliary Shaft Seal Replacer T74P-6150-A
• Front Cover Seal Remover T74P-6700-B

Removal

Use Front Cover Seal Remover T74P-6700-B to remove all the seals.

When positioning this tool, ensure that the jaws are gripping the thin edge of the seal very tightly before operating the jackscrew portion of the tool.

The following illustration shows the same tool used to remove the cylinder front cover seal.

Installation

Use Cam and Auxiliary Shaft Seal Replacer T74P-6150-A with a stepped, threaded arbor to install all the seals. The tool acts as a press, using the internal threads of the various shafts as a pilot.

Use Cam and Auxiliary Shaft Seal Replacer T74P-6150-A to install the camshaft seal. This procedure is typical of the other seal installations.
