Removal

1. Remove radiator grille opening panel/bumper cover. Refer to Section 01-02.

2. Remove fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to Section 17-01.

3. Remove eight bolts retaining the bumper assembly bracket to the isolators. Remove the bumper.

    CAUTION: Never apply heat to the bumper energy absorbers. Heat could cause the material inside the absorbers to expand and flow out of the absorbers or crack the metal housing. Always remove the absorbers before making body frame service near them.

4. Remove the bracket retaining bolts and nut plates, and separate the bracket from the bumper.

Installation

Only those parts shown may be used. Do not use any other parts.

1. Install nut plates to face plate of isolator.

2. Position the bumper assembly to the isolator and install the retaining bolts.

3. Tighten the retaining bolts to 19-27 Nm (14-20 lb-ft).

4. Install fog lamps, if equipped. Refer to Section 17-01.

5. Install radiator grille opening panel/bumper cover.
