REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Wiper Motor
When installing the drive arm to a new motor, follow the instructions
included in the new motor kit.
CAUTION: The internal permanent magnets used in the wiper motor are a ceramic
(glass-like) material. Care must be exercised in handling the motor to avoid
damaging the magnets. The motor must not be struck or tapped with a hammer or
other object.
Removal
- Disconnect the battery and remove the RH wiper and blade assembly.
- Remove the cowl top grille retaining screws and grille.
- Remove clip.
- Disconnect the linkage drive arm from the motor crankpin.
- Disconnect the wiper motor's electrical connector and remove the wiper
motor's three retaining screws. Pull the motor from the opening.
Installation
- Reverse Removal procedure. Tighten all motor retaining bolts to 7-9 Nm
(60-80 lb-in).
- Before installing the arm and blade assembly to the pivot shaft, ensure the
motor is in PARK and the blades are set to Dimension X as outlined under
Adjustments.
