Except Hatchback

Removal and Installation

1. Open the luggage compartment deck lid.

2. Remove the latch retaining bolts. Disconnect the electric latch wire, if so equipped, and remove the latch as outlined.

   NOTE: The lock cylinder retainer is retained in place with a rivet which must be removed using a 1/4-inch drill.

3. Remove support.

4. Remove bracket.

5. Remove retainer.

6. Remove lock cylinder and extension installed in lock cylinder.

7. To install, reverse Removal procedure.

8. Connect the electric latch wire, if so equipped. Position the latch to the luggage compartment deck lid, and install the retaining bolts. Tighten to 9-14 Nm (7-10 lb-ft).

9. Adjust the latch as outlined.

Hatchback

Tools Required:

• Torx® Drive Bit Set D79P-2100-T

Removal and Installation

1. Open hatchback.

2. Remove latch retaining bolts. Remove cover and latch bracket assembly.

3. Remove pop-rivet and retainer. Lock cylinder must be removed simultaneously with retainer.

4. To install, reverse Removal procedure.

5. Position latch and bracket assembly with the cover to the hatchback door and tighten bolts to 9-14 Nm (7-10 lb-ft).

6. Use Torx® Drive Bit Set D79P-2100-T or equivalent to adjust striker assembly for proper seal and fit and tighten to 27-38 Nm (20-28 lb-ft).
