Clutch Controls

 

Starter/Clutch Interlock Switch Continuity

  1. Disconnect switch wiring connector at switch.
  1. Using a test lamp or continuity tester, check that switch is open with clutch pedal up (clutch engaged), and closed at approximately 25.4mm (1 inch) from the clutch pedal full down position (clutch disengaged).
  1. If switch does not operate as outlined in Step 2, check to see if the self-adjusting clip is out of position on the rod. It should be near the end of the rod.
  1. If the self-adjusting clip is out of position, remove and reposition the clip to about 25.4mm (1 inch) from the end of the rod.
  1. Reset switch by pressing clutch pedal to floor.
  1. Repeat Step 2. If switch is damaged or clips do not remain in place, replace switch.
