Rotor Splash Shield

Removal

1. Remove the caliper and the hub and rotor assembly as outlined. It is not necessary to disconnect hydraulic connections.

2. Remove the three bolts retaining the splash shield to the spindle and remove the shield.

3. Remove and discard the splash shield-to-spindle gasket.

Installation

1. Install a new splash shield-to-spindle gasket.

2. Position the shield on the mounting bracket. Install the retaining bolts. Do not attempt to bend or adjust the plastic shield.

   Tighten to 12-19 Nm (9-14 lb-ft) on Mustang 5.0L and Police units, and to 15-16 Nm (11-12 lb-ft) on Mustang 2.3L vehicles.

3. Install hub and rotor assembly and caliper as outlined.
