Handling Suspension

Removal

1. Raise vehicle on a hoist and support the rear axle. Refer to Section 00-02.

2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.

3. Remove axle damper front retaining pivot bolt.

4. Remove axle damper rear retaining nut. Remove axle damper and washers.

Installation

1. Install washers, axle damper and nut on rear mounting bracket. Do not tighten nut.

2. Position axle damper in front bracket and install pivot bolt into weld nut on the axle bracket.

3. Tighten rear retaining nut to 76-103 Nm (57-75 lb-ft).

4. Tighten front retaining bolt to 76-103 Nm (57-75 lb-ft).

5. Install wheel and tire assembly.
