4-Cylinder Engine—Fan Control

These engines use a fan control.

8-Cylinder Engines

These engines use a fan drive clutch.

Removal

1. Remove serpentine belt. Refer to Section 03-05.

2. Remove the fan shroud. Remove the screw and washer assemblies attaching the drive clutch and fan assembly to the water pump hub. Remove the drive clutch and fan assembly.

3. Remove the retaining screw and washer assemblies and separate the fan from the drive clutch.

Installation

1. Position the replacement fan on the drive clutch and install the washer and screw assemblies. Tighten the capscrews evenly and alternately to 16-24 Nm (12-17 lb-ft).

2. Position the fan and drive clutch on the water pump hub and install the washer and screw assemblies. Tighten the capscrews evenly and alternately to 20-27 Nm (15-22 lb-ft).

3. Install serpentine belt. Refer to Section 03-05.
