The interior trim component Removal and Installation procedures generally apply to all models. If some of the Steps do not apply to the particular models being serviced, proceed to the next Step.

Headlining

Removal

1. Remove sun visor, retainer clips and bracket assemblies as outlined.

2. Snap out roof side inner trim mouldings.

3. Remove screws retaining the windshield side garnish mouldings and remove mouldings as outlined.

4. Snap out upper windshield garnish mouldings.

5. Snap out rear window upper garnish moulding.

6. Remove screws retaining quarter trim panel and coat hook. Remove coat hook. Let trim panel hang from safety belt.

7. Remove dome lamp. Refer to Section 17-02.

8. On sun roof vehicles, remove sun roof weatherstrip.

9. Remove two rear and two side drive pins as shown.

10. Shift roof trim panel all the way to one side allowing the opposite side to bend inboard to remove.

11. Remove headlining from the vehicle as follows:
    • 2-door: Through passenger door.
    • 3-door: Through third door.
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    

Installation

1. Unpackage headlining (roof trim panel), lay out on flat surface and break score ends.

2. Position the headlining (roof trim panel) in the vehicle and secure it to the roof panel with the drive pins first.

3. On vehicles equipped with a sun roof, apply double sided tape to outside perimeter of sun roof opening and stretch headlining and press against tape.

4. To complete installation, reverse Removal procedure.
