The interior trim component Removal and Installation procedures generally apply to all models. If some of the Steps do not apply to the particular models being serviced, proceed to the next Step.

Garnish Moulding Tool Usage

Tools Required:

• Moulding Tool—Right Hand T64P-42006-B
• Moulding Tool—Left Hand T64P-42006-C

The interior trim garnish mouldings which surround the roof rail headers are retained by push-in spring clips.

Use Moulding Tools T64P-42006-B and -C (RH and LH), to remove mouldings with spring clips. If tools are not available, a tool can be fabricated and used to remove the interior trim garnish mouldings.

Refer to the following procedures for proper use of the moulding removal tool.

 WARNING: PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE WITH CARE. IT IS ADVISABLE TO WEAR SAFETY GLASSES AND GLOVES IN CASE OF ACCIDENTAL TOOL SLIPPAGE OR DISENGAGEMENT.

1. Locate the tool approximately 76.2-101.6mm (3-4 inches) from either end of the moulding being removed. For windshield garnish moulding, it is suggested that the removal be started from the RH side of the vehicle.

2. Place the forefinger and thumb on the short side of the hooked tool and then hook the longer side of the tool on moulding. Be careful not to damage the headlining.
   
   
   
   

3. With forefinger and thumb, push and expand the short side of the hooked tool.
   
   
   
   

   Swing the short side of the tool over toward the glass side of the moulding and hook it to the edge of the moulding.
   
   
   
   

4. Break the moulding loose at one end so that it drops out approximately 13mm (1/2-inch) or more. Grip the loose end of the moulding and pull it down as shown. The remainder of the moulding should pop out with ease.
   
   
   
   

   When installing removed moulding(s), use hand pressure to seat the spring clips and install any removed screws.
